The first file has *absolute* offsets into the other files, and the *absolute* offsets change if you *convert* the file between unix and dos. If you *generate* the split file in dos, and if info is smart enough about figuring out the file offsets, it should work. Since the only split info files djgpp has are the ones from FSF (i use --no-split so that CR/LF isn't an issue) you shouldn't need to edit them anyway.
