I would like to thank all the people who posted messages to me about the makefile, it is now using TABS instead of SPACES and it works. One more thing though, when I run my makefile, it compiles all the object modules correctly, but when it tries to link them I get the error: ld.exe: Cannot open gcc Error 1. It won't run from the makefile, but when I type in the command line by hand it runs fine. I can't see why this happens, first I thought it might be a path discrepancy but it can't be because it runs OK when started by hand. I am running it on a 486 with 4Mb RAM and at least 8Mb free HD space (to swap, if needed). If anyone else has suffered this and solved it please help. Any help much appreciated. -- "Just when you see the light at the end of the tunnel . . . The roof caves in!" Charlie Gamble gambcl AT essex DOT ac DOT uk
