I would like to thank all the people who posted messages to me about the makefile, it is now using TABS instead of SPACES and it works. Thanks also to Csaba Beig (spelling?) for his comment about the strange behaviour of the colours in my program (I have a Cirrus 54?? with 1Mb, in case he is reading this and wants to know what cards this happens on). One more thing though, when I run my makefile, it compiles all the object modules correctly, but when it tries to link them I get the error: ld: Cannot (something) gcc Error 1. Sorry for the vagueness but I've just forgotten exactly what it said. But anyway, it won't run from the makefile, but when I type in the command line by hand it runs fine. I can't see why this happens, first I thought it might be a path discrepancy but it can't be because it runs OK when started by hand. If anyone else has suffered this and solved it please help. Any help much appreciated. By the way, I think this mailing list is excellent, the way that you can send in a query and get replies from more experienced users (even the authors themselves) is fantastic. And it is good to see a list that does not immediately flame a new user. Keep it up. -- "Just when you see the light at the end of the tunnel . . . The roof caves in!"
