This was most ungracious of me!  Fact:  I didn't give the structure I was
trying to fill via int 0x10, function 0x1b, so in his reply, DJ didn't have
sufficient facts to be able to help me.  It's my fault.  DJ, thanks for a
product that makes my laptop be something less than laughable.  Slow still,
but that's NOT your problem.
