gcc hasn't used dos-incompatible filenames since 2.2.2.  2.3.x had a
problem with "gcc a.c b.c" but otherwise worked fine.  2.4 is
buildable with djgpp as long as you fix up the "version=" line in the
makefile built by configure.bat (remove the ";).  2.4.1 will build
correctly with no modifications (I missed the 2.4 window due to mail
problems).
