I'm a packrat. I don't really delete anything; if you look in pub/djgpp/deleted you'll see every package I've ever "deleted". But I tell the mirrors they can either mirror everything (which includes "deleted") or just "current". As a handy metric, I like "current" to fit on a CD-ROM. It's rare that I'd actually create a CD-ROM from it, but perhaps someone else might too, and it's a reasonable size (700Mb) for the main distribution. The "full" distribution is currently 1.8 Gb. "deleted" is currently 788 Mb, it would grow by whatever "current" shrinks by, but I don't care if "deleted" fits on a CD-ROM ;-)
