I think we should just say to use unzip32 and forget about all the other unzips; each has some gotcha or another. ------- Start of forwarded message ------- Date: Wed, 31 Dec 2003 13:05:34 -0500 To: dj AT delorie DOT com X-URL: mailto:dj AT delorie DOT com X-Personal_Name: : sindi keesan From: keesan AT cyberspace DOT org Subject: pkzip and readme.1st Readme.1st for djgpp says to unzip with a 'recent version' of pkunzip or another program that does not support long file names such as unzip32.exe. We tried with pkunzip and it did not work unzip32.exe did work. Our pkunzip is 2.04g. The date is 2001. The most recent version of pkunzip is 2.50 and it DOES support long file names (when used in a Windows DOS box). Please specify in readme.1st WHICH version of pkzip will work. We wasted a few hours figuring this out. The older pkzip is free and it is what a lot of people will still be using. The new one is $47. The instructions for installation are in readme.dj, which your zip picker program did not list as required. Readme.1st says to read the DOS installation instructinos which we had trouble finding. Thanks. ------- End of forwarded message -------
