This release is a bugfix release, bringing to the stable branch many improvements of the unstable one, fully compatible at the Application Binary Interface level with 4.0.0 on Windows, Linux and BeOS and backwards compatible at the Application Programming Interface level on every supported platform. Here is a list of the principal changes since version 4.0.3 release candidate 1: Fixed a little-endianness assumption in the 24-bit BMP reader. Fixed the uninstall target and a problem with Mingw32's make for the Watcom port. Fixed asynchronous I/O mode restoring under Linux. Fixed patterned drawing in the C version. Intellimouse PS/2 driver works for USB mice under Linux. Fixed a conflict between magic main and the MFC. Fixed a bug with pack_fgets(). Fixed parallel builds (e.g. make -j2). Backported the email address mangling code from the 4.1.x series. Get this new version from the Download section.
