I mention it here because it provides yet another version of symlink. egrep is a 33 byte script, #!/bin/sh exec grep -E ${1+"$@"} formed during the build, rather than the install stage. Like its 510 byte counterpart it requires running bash to function properly. Only other test, "> sh ./egrep --help," gave a response starting with "grep" rather than the proper "egrep" IMHO the 2K stub is the way to go. Having the file utilities recognize it as a link would be frosting on the cake.
