We don't support -fPIC, but for some reason the linker doesn't barf, when it's
used. So how about including the following, to stop configure scripts trying
to build dynamic libraries with DJGPP? 

    lt_cv_prog_cc_pic_works=no

There was a thread in comp.os.msdos.djgpp this week - I can forward you a
couple of the messages from that, if you'd like.
