Don't know what it > said, because I have info start up in a new window through a .pif If that PIF is set up to close the window when the program exits, then you get what you asked for ;-) If "info --apropos" doesn't find any index with the text you gave it, it prints a message to that effect and exits, at which time Windows closes the DOS box, as requested. Run it from an already open DOS box instead, or type "M-x index-apropos RET" from an already running info session to invoke the same command from within Info.
