I was able to build the fileutil package last evening and verify the newer fixpath patch made a fully functional (and safe) rm which worked with deep paths. Eli pointed out some problems with the fixpath approach - when we get those worked out I think we will be ready to commit the patch (and update the v203 patch kit).
