Thanks to Charles who has allowed hosting of an unofficial DJGPP Windows 2000 site. The site contains allot of info which is designed to help developers get the DJGPP compiler and associated packages working on Windows 2000 and XP as quickly as possible so that they can help the out. The site also contains a number of work in progress binary files for use on Windows 2000 and XP (and Win 9x for crazy developers who want to test for backward compatibility issues) . The info and files at the site should allow DJGPP developers and users to get the DJGPP compiler working under Windows 2000 and XP very quickly, it still requires you to download the packages from Simtel. The site is accessible from DJ's site by clicking on the "Current DJGPP status vs Windows 2000 (unofficial)" link under the Introduction section. The other option is to go directly to the main page at http://clio.rice.edu/djgpp/win2k/main.htm. This week the major milestone achieved in my opinion is that allot of issues to do with LFN issues have been fixed or are being actively worked on. Once these changes have been incorporated it should be possible to compile, debug and test on Windows 2000 without the need for a Win98 box. At the moment you have wanted to try DJGPP under Windows 2000 please go to the link above and read on and download the files and give it a try and let us know how it went. The weekly status report is now available on line via the link above. The updated binary files available from the site above fix allot of issues compare to the previously available binary files, if you have previously downloaded the files go and get an update. Please keep checking this site every few days over the next week for updates to the files that I have not already updated. NOTE: These binary files still have known issues so be aware! The binary files available for download are WIP. Andrew
