That is, for first time comers to the CVS web interface like myself, it is very inconvenient to click on each file and get a diff/revision history at that -- and not the file itself. When first time comers get a CVS tarball they can then just visit the CVS web interface and update their files as necessary. In any case a tarball of the sources in CVS would be better in my case since I don't have CVS access.
