What do you mean by "a spec for the format"? Do you mean a DSM for the package of DSMs? Or a general layout of the package? I have a mirror of the DJGPP archive, so I could knock up a script to do this and provide a DSM for the package. I was thinking it would use MD5 hashes of the DSMs extracted from packages, so that it did not produce a new package of DSMs unnecessarily.
