May be really we need some recomendations for sending source code
or diffs. 

Perhaps it's best to do in plain text (or not encoded attachment) if the 
size doesn't exceed some reasonable limit (like 20-30K). I still prefer 
attachment if it contains patch to avoid spoiling some white space. I 
think that we need to send larger files seldom enough for somebody to 
get upset.

For me it's not so big difference but messages with MIME encoded
attachments are more likely to be skipped especially if they contains 
archive
