Make suceeds in top directory but fails due to unknown reason (to me) when make is invoked in subdirectory. Simply run make top directory. I'm normally using latest binary of bash-2.0.3, make-3.78.1 Replaced it with old bash-1.4.17: no changes Tried make-3.77: no changes Tried to rebuild make-3.78.1 with current libc: no changes Initially I found this problem in rhide makefiles, but it took some time to create small test example. Sorry for using binary attachment (small UUENCODED ZIP archive) ---------------- Output I'm getting ------------ c:/djgpp/test/makebug/foo FOO sucessfully called from c:/djgpp/test/makebug bash c:/djgpp/test/makebug/foo FOO sucessfully called from c:/djgpp/test/makebug make -k -C 1 all make.exe[1]: Entering directory `c:/djgpp/test/makebug/1' c:/djgpp/test/makebug/1/foo make.exe[1]: *** [check1_curr] Error -1 bash c:/djgpp/test/makebug/1/foo c:/djgpp/test/makebug/1/foo: c:/djgpp/test/makebug/1/foo: No such file or directory (ENOENT) make.exe[1]: *** [check2_curr] Error 127 make.exe[1]: Target `all' not remade because of errors. make.exe[1]: Leaving directory `c:/djgpp/test/makebug/1' make.exe: *** [check_sub] Error 2 ------------------------------------------------------- Andris --Message-Boundary-28982 Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-disposition: inline Content-description: Attachment information.
