That's not a useful reply.  We must comply with ANSI C.

Whether it is a good idea to have the headers say explicitly how the
library is compiled is a different issue.  I was only talking about
the implications of making regparm=3 the default, and I thought that
you suggested to solve the possible problems via the headers.
