Thanks for the idea, I will check it with some configure scripts. But if ~ doesn't work as well, we probably should simply give up on the default value, at least for the time being. (Btw, DJDIR~c:/djgpp~ is not a good idea, since the colon would confuse Make if it appears in targets or dependency name. But we can always use /dev/c/djgpp instead ;-)
