I'm not sure that the cause is fflush itself. People who ask these questions don't call fflush just for the sake of it; they do something else after calling fflush, and *that* is the part which doesn't work and that triggers questions. Now, if somebody could describe what is it that doesn't work after fflush, perhaps we could solve the problem in a way that doesn't destroy all 16KB of my buffered data ;-). In any case, I suggest that everybody bears in mind that this is a bugfix release: any new features should be out, unless they are simple and localized enough that we are sure no harm will ever be done. Otherwise, we will need a long beta period, which would fly in the face of the reason for this release: to correct a couple of grave bugs, like the profiling stuff, in v2.02 and provide users with a stable version so we could all relax for a while ;-).
