I've added to functions from <wctype.h> to the wide string library.

library binary to libw.a. 

Unfortunately (and also FYI), don't bother trying the latest version 
of SGI's STL with EGCS 1.1 because a template instantiation bug 
pretty well makes the library useless (you'll get linker errors). The 
bug is reported to have been fixed in the latest egcs snapshot, but 
I have no way of confirming that.
