I was so sure that the circumstances were identical to what had happened with simtelnet that I was unable to see the trailing slash in the reference to the new temporary location. The listing would be much more useful for its intended purpose if the directories were sorted by date of modification, latest date first, like "ls -t". Can a simple hidden file in the base directory, simtel or v2gnu, change the defaults of the directory listings in each subdirectory? Some way of indicating that an archive has been patched should be available on the mirror site. If the archive is of moderate size one may decide to download the archive rather than trying to get only the modified files from "www.delorie.com". When it is a humongous file like `gcc281s.zip' it might be worth a look at http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/dl/ofc/simtel/v2gnu/gcc281s.zip/ to retrieve individual files. The only way I can think of that would be obvious ;-), self-evident ;=)) etc., would be to add a patch level since the major and minor version numbers of the FSF releases may not be changed. `mak3761s-p2.zip' would be understood as the second patched release of the source of make 3.76.1 ported to DJGPP.
