If you know about any other configuration files that could help, please tell me. I already compared AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS of two such systems when the Bash problem was reported on c.o.m.d, and didn't see anything special. In particular, at least one system which has this problem exhibits this behavior even with empty AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS. I also tried booting Windows into the SAFE configuration, but the problem persisted. I'm seriously beginning to think about BIOS setup and related things.
