IMHO, this is not a good idea. It will only be possible to guarantee one paragraph per note if we go with your idea of a separate entry for each individual compiler, which IMHO is gross itself. I think we should have an entry for, say, "dos", and then talk about different DOS compilers, *where necessary*, in separate paragraphs in the "dos" note.
