No, it's the other way around: the legacy DJGPP functions like `bioscom' and `biosdisk' are from Borland; the `_bios_*' and `_dos_*' variety were intriduced for portability to MSC. Borland also supports this latter style in its latest versions (beginning with 3.x). And Watcom is just a faithful copy of MSC (as far as the interface of the library functions goes).
