Caution is advised. I agree. I wasn't proposing any change. I just described how things work in v2.01. In fact, I'm not even sure we need to change anything for v2.02. After all, it worked all through v2.01, with quite a few people using Windows 95, and nobody complained. This thread began when I asked whether finding DJGPP.ENV using the long name should work, because I thought it didn't (that's what we tell the newbies). However, it turns out that it does work in v2.01. What I'm asking is whether the couple of subtle drawbacks of the current code (as I described yesterday) require a change in v2.02.
