When I make the binutils 2.8 available (will still take some
time), I want to include the latest stub (which is hardcoded
in the binutils). There was discussion and at least two
patches for stub.asm in November 1996 but I'm unsure which
should be applied. (This was the bug with symlink dealing
with 8 chars basename).

Can we come here to an agreement? If not, I will select one
of the two patches and make it as default in the binutils.
