I've verified that `open/readdir' and `stat' with the fake "/." and "/.." 
entries don't seem to do any harm neither to GNU Find nor to the few 
fileutils which I tried with those patches.

Now I *really* have nothing on my todo list as far as the library is 
concerned.  For all I know we can move into beta.
