SETEdit is a friendly text editor, mainly oriented for programing. It have a nice text user interface with windows, mouse and dialogs. That's the editor used by RHIDE. For more information visit: http://setedit.sourceforge.net/ This is an announcement about the SETEdit pre-release. The version number is 0.4.51 and it will become the stable release soon. So, anybody with some time to spare please download and test it. Make back-ups of old configuration files before installing the new version, it works ok for me and the people that tested it from the editor's mailing list but nobody knows for sure ;-) * DOS packages (DJGPP) Installer release: (a friendly way to install the editor) http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/setedit/edi0451i.zip Binary release: (not needed if you use the installer, it follows the standard djgpp directory structure) http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/setedit/edi0451b.zip Sources: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/setedit/edi0451s.zip * Win32 *EXPERIMENTAL* This a native Win32 port compiled with the free Borland C++ 5.5 compiler, I don't know if you need an extra dll, I think this file is enough but isn't well tested and I can't dedicate too much time to this target. It should work better than the DOS version for NT systems (like Windows 2000). For this you must install the djgpp version first and then replace the binary file of the editor by the one contained here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/setedit/setedit-0.4.51-Win32-BCpp.zip * Linux: Sources: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/setedit/setedit-0.4.51.tar.gz Statically linked binary (gpm 1.17.8): http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/setedit/setedit-0.4.51.bin.i386.elf.static.linux.tar.gz Debian Potato package (i386): http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/setedit/setedit_0.4.51-0.1_i386.deb http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/setedit/rhtvision1.1.3_1.1.3-2_i386.deb Experimental versions for SPARC, PPC and Alpha can be compiled, contact me about it. * FreeBSD *EXPERIMENTAL* Just pretend you are using Linux and download the above mentioned tarball, the configuration script will detect the OS. I need feedback about it. * Solaris SPARC: A user is trying to solve problems on this front, contact me. SET -- Salvador Eduardo Tropea (SET).
