What about NTVDM as a console window perhaps with Japheth's DPMI host (HDPMI), DOS extender (HXRT), and GUI/console app extensions (HXGUI)? If so, NTVDM could be a solution for some DOS users. It's too bad Japheth seems to have stopped working on such things. There are also those guys Xeno86 and Tihiy who worked on the KernelEx stuff. Did someone archive Japheth's site?
