You got a compress.exe in your DJGPP package? That raises a suspicion: you aren't by any chance still running a DJGPP V1 toolchain, are you? > > This message comes from CWSDPMI, the DPMI server used only on plain > > DOS and other systems that don't already have a DPMI server built into > > them. Given the platform now named as W2K, that obviously can't be the case. I'm not sure I would still be able to tell the difference between the go32.exe traceback and that of CWSDPMI. > I have used the program previously on Windows 95,98, ME and > presently I am running 2000 Version 5.00 on a P3. What's the timestamp on your f2c.exe and compress.exe files, e.g.? > It was working fine till May this year(after working fine on Windows > 2000 for 3 years). This points the most likely blame at one of MS's security updates released in that timeframe having made it impossible to run DPMI apps the way they used to. Anyway: you're in for a massive update of your DJGPP toolchain (or a downgrade of your OS). -- Hans-Bernhard Broeker (broeker AT physik DOT rwth-aachen DOT de) Even if all the snow were burnt, ashes would remain.
