That version of gcc is _really_ old - several years
old, I think.  That suggests you got your version of
djgpp off a CD-ROM included in some book, rather than
downloading djgpp off the net.  You should completely
remove your installation of djgpp from your computer,
then go to 

http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/zip-picker.html

to download the current version of djgpp.  Follow the
installation directions provided there very carefully,
paying particular attention to the instructions
regarding your path. Among other things, the current
version behaves better with Win2K and WinXP than the
older version you apparently have.
