However, I have spent an endless amount of time trying to get the required results, and am about to give up and go begging for money to buy something that works. I must say that to a busy want-some-software-that-works like me, DJGPP is a nightmare - I eventually got the basic C & C++ with emacs to work on several operating systems, but none of my students could reproduce the system on theirs!! Is there some nice easy set of instructions that I have missed? After much heartache and many wrong turnings caused by poor and erroneous instructions I have ALMOST got a result for the minimal Windows program. I have eliminated all the error messages, but now produce a "SYM" file instead of an executable! I used to be able to produce an executable that crashed, but I can't remember how I lost it. Anybody got any ideas for a harassed & short of funds lecturer?
