i thought a good improvement was adding a .mft file to this version
!!. unfortunately if i try to install this perl anywhere else , but
c:\djgpp (say c:\perl) i get errors like:

can't find IO::Scalar by MakeMaker.pm when trying to install
additional modules (ex OLEStorage_Lite). Perhaps i could have played
games with links, PERL5LIBs, or copying the djgpp.env around but i
doubt it. 

perhaps a note in the readme would be worthwhile since it took a long
time to figure out what was going on. when i tried to make a link to 
directory /dev/env/djgpp it hit me that /dev/env/DJDIR must be
somehow related "set DJGPP= "

has anyone ever succeeded in building Win32::OLE without vc++ ?. that
was my original objective. hints would be appreciated.
