i don't know if ANSI C++ requires support for being able to pass a pointer 
to a class to an operator overload, but it does work in metrowerks - i keep 
getting this error about needing to pass a class or enumerated type, and 
using a typedef doesn't help.  i'm surprised at this just because it's kind 
of necessary to make a linked list work .. . well, thanks anyway, and for 
everything else i love the compiler.
