Can anyone tell me how to compile the s-lang library with djgpp?

I followed the terse instructions, but got this response from make:

slconfig.h config.h
Bad command or file name
config.h
make.exe: [config.h] Error -1 (ignored)

I would be grateful if anyone has got slanglib to work with djgpp
