I guess you're right that it must be something on my system conflicting -- I installed the same files to my work computer, a Dell laptop with 48MB RAM also running 98SE, and it works beautifully. I just wish it worked so well at home! I thought maybe it was the extra RAM at home causing trouble. I am using 98SE, I am 100% sure, on both computers. About the only difference I can see in the setup of the computer at home versus at work is "write behind caching" is not enabled on the laptop. I turned it off at home but it didn't help :-(. Of course, the video card, attached devices, etc. are all different. My device drivers are all up to date and nothing has caused a problem for me in the past. I hope it isn't one of those things causing the crash -- I have no idea how I'd fix that. Sorry I sound so clueless, but I guess I am! I don't usually have computer trouble -- I can usually figure things out on my own. When I get home tonight, I will post the full text of the Windows dialog box and other information that may help. I am pretty sure the dialog box says "MS-DOS Prompt" is causing the trouble. Not too helpful, I know. I really appreciate the help! -------------------------------------------------------------- Brian Kennedy brk AT eclipse DOT net
