Thanks for the replies from both of you. I've never built external
libraries onto an existing library for gcc - I've always just
compiled 'out of the box'. I had a hunch it might be something like
that, but I had no idea where to look. And I'm still too green to be
able to dig into something like 'man gcc'. By any chance is there an
O'Reilly (or similar style) book on DJGPP or (almost as good) gcc that
you would recommend to a newbie? And not just for the basics -
something that would have answered this question for me, too, so that I
wouldn't have had to bother the newsgroup? ;}
