I have asked myself this question many times already. Why oh why oh why
would Mr. Stroustrup want me looking at things like "what kind of pointer
values are possible." Methinks it only leads a programmer into getting
really creative and delving into what I'll term "stupid programming
tricks"...

However, I think I could spend many years programming in C++ and still not
know what he had in mind. For now, he's the expert and I'm the student and
I'm just gonna' do my best to answer the question...
