I am tying to develop an image editor in DJGPP and ALLEGRO , =20 supporting DIB format,.
for Dos PMI
 
The problem is:
 
I have the images having the palette different from that stored by = default=20 (say i am using 8bit ) .
 
My interface uses GRAY , BLACK,  WHITE etc shades which are = taken from=20 the deafult palette. when the image is loaded i also have to load its = palette.=20 This will change the interface colors too , like the buttons, = menus.
 
How do ppl normally get around this problem. How do i preserve my = default=20 palette and also load the palete of the BMP file.
