NES is normally programmed in assembly language: > http://pineight.8m.com/nes.htm But the ROM segments can be paged into processor address space, so used for programs (although the 6502 still only has a 16bit address space), and there was, a long time ago - like 1985, a 'small C' compiler going around which was a cut down version of K&R for 6502s. -Thomas
