From this, and the occurence of the 'streambuf.h problem', I conclude
you must be using Windows NT as your OS. You've just hit the key
problem of DJGPP with NT: lack of support for long filenames in NT's
DOS emulation. Only Windows applications (including the 32bit
'cmd.exe' that runs the prompt, in NT) can see long filenames in
NT. 

Re-read the 'readme.1st' instructions to see how to install DJGPP on
NT using *short* filenames.
