It may has to do with the Pentium optimization after all, but it doesn't
look like this. A parse error has nothing to do with it. The configure
script is only used under Unix-type OSes. My normal installation procedure
is as follows:

Unzip Allegro
fixdjgpp
make
make install

That should work. The best thing would be to ask on the mailing list, there
are a lot of people there who don't monitor this newsgroup.
