Sorry, I don't follow.  If \yafc existed, the mkdir call should have
worked anyway.  If \yafc did not exist, then it is expected to fail.

You mean, like in "gmkdir -p" from the command line?  No, the function
doesn't support this, you need to do that programmatically.
