QT, on which KDE is based, can be made to work directly onto a linear framebuffer, theortically for PDAs, QNX and other applications where the bloat of X is unwanted. This would cut out a large chunk of the grunt work. The drawback would be that the end result would not be able to run X11 applications.. only KDE ones. The other problem is Troll Tech, who own QT. Their licensing is pretty strange, for example the X11 version is open-source but the Win32 version is not. Adding any new platform, let alone one as unusual as DOS will require consulting them. > > -- > > Nate Eldredge > neldredge AT hmc DOT edu -- JP Morris - aka DOUG the Eagle (Dragon) -=UDIC=- DOUG-15 AT bigfoot DOT com Fun things to do with the Ultima games (http://ithe.cjb.net) Developing a U6/U7 clone (http://fly.to/ire) d+++ e+ N+ T++ Om U1234!56!7'!S'!8!9!KA u++ uC+++ uF+++ uG---- uLB---- uA--- nC+ nR---- nH+++ nP++ nI nPT nS nT wM- wC- y a(YEAR - 1976)
