Version messup. You probably upgraded your gcc and/or binutils
packages, at some time, and didn't closely follow the installation
instructions coming with the new one, so you now have files from the
old installation still lying around, confusing the new one.

Showing us the listing of your 'manifest' directory would be the key
to that problem, I think...
