No, that's different. Previous versions of other GNU packages are in v2gnu because they have radically different functionality that users may want. Examples are Patch 2.1 and Emacs 19.34. This is not the case with GCC: the old version should be only useful for those who want a trusted bug-free version in a situation where the compiler is suspect.
