Help!

I am trying to compile some sample code to write back to the DOS system
environment space using C.

I am using MS Visual C++ Ver 1.52, but am having trouble compiling the
following line:

	movedata(env_addr, 0, _DS, (unsigned)&env_blk[0], seglen);

The problem is that the compiler knows nothing of _DS. I gather it
refers to the daa segment register but how is this used? It does not
appear in any .H files and furthermore I can find no help on the
movedata function.

Any assistance with this (or any code that will do the job!) will be
appreciated.
