I even tried setting the TMPDIR in my AUTOEXEC.BAT file. No luck. I also tried creating a C:\usr\tmp directory, in case that would help... it didn't. I'm out of ideas... Btw, what is this DMI thing you have installed? For example, the
following lines show it:

Dell OpenManage Client... our network guy wants us to leave it as is. I never use it and I really don't know if he does either, or, for that matter, what it does.

Why did you need these two lines? I think they can be dangerous,
