The FAQ does explain (in section 12.2) what does error=4 and error=6 mean. It cannot explain about *all* the possible error values because then I'd need to put all of the monumental Intel manual inside the FAQ ;-). If you need to interpret every bit in the crash message, download the Pentium manuals from the Intel's site. For Page Fault, the value 7 is like 6: it means you tried to write to an invalid address. The LSB (the one which distinguishes between 6 and 7) means that the fault was caused by a page-level protection violation. Since all DPMI servers I know about don't implement page-level protection, I wonder how did you get that.
